What is the application process?

When you apply to a position, your profile and answers to any job questions are measured against the job requirements. As our recruiters match candidates for current opportunities, you may be contacted to schedule a qualifying telephone interview.

In some cases, you may not hear from us right away, which may indicate that at this time we don't have an opportunity that matches your skills. Please continue to apply to positions that interest you and keep your profile up to date. We are always looking for new talent.

How will Fidelity contact me if they are interested in my application?

We want your experience with Fidelity to be positive. Our recruiters typically reach out to job candidates via the email or phone number you have provided to us in your application.

It’s always good to be cautious when you are contacted by anyone claiming to represent a company, including ours. Here are some other ways that you can determine whether a job recruitment contact you receive is from our firm:

  • We will communicate with you individually. We would not send an email to a group of job candidates.
  • We would never ask you to pay us money nor would we ask you to purchase anything to enable you to work.
  • We would only request confidential information after an interview or offer is made.
  • While we do conduct some interviews on video platforms, we do not conduct interviews on instant message platforms, such as Yahoo! Messenger, WhatsApp, Google Talk, Google Hangouts, etc.
  • We would not ask you to create a social media profile of any kind.

I have an interview. What can I do to prepare?

"Come prepared to market yourself," says one Fidelity recruiter. "Instead of just listing your strengths, describe what you have accomplished as a result of those strengths. Cite specific examples."

Most interviews at Fidelity are behavioural-based. This means our recruiters and hiring managers will ask about specific professional situations you've been in and your accomplishments. For example, if you mention that you're efficient, you'll be asked to provide examples from your work history that illustrate this.

Fidelity recruiters suggest you:

  • Familiarize yourself with the content of your résumé and ensure its accuracy
  • Review the job description to determine how your background applies
  • Be prepared to cite examples of your key professional accomplishments or related academic work
  • Research Fidelity to understand more about the company and the work that we do
  • Ask your recruiter for more information about the business unit you'll be interviewing with
  • Prepare a list of job-related questions that you can bring to the interview
